Winners of Iran's 3rd Musicema Awards named

Iran's 3rd Musicema Awards, which was attended by a number of noted Iranian artists and musicians, was held at Tehran's Vahdat Hall.

The ceremony began with a one-minute silence in respect for the victims of Mina tragedy.

The golden prize in the section of the best traditional Iranian contemporary music album went to 'Raindrops' and was presented to Keykhosro Pournazeri, Tahmoures Pournazeri and Alireza Qorbani, Mehr News Agency wrote.

In the audience choice section, the golden prize was given to Homayoun Shajarian's album 'The Occult and the Intoxicated'.

The golden prize for music composition in the traditional Iranian music composition part was taken by Hamid Motebasem for 'Whispers' while Alireza Afkari was awarded the prize in the pop section for 'The Fall of Loneliness'.

Milad Derakhshani bagged the golden prize for 'Esharat-e Nazar', fusion and experimental music composition.

Mohammadreza Darvishi received the golden prize in the regional music album section for his 'Manzoomeha-ye Hemasi'.

The golden prize of the best fusion and experimental album, in the audience choice section, went to Sohrab Pournazeri for 'Heavy Makeup' which was sung by Homayoun Shajarian.

Singer Fereydoun Asraei won the best pop album award in the experts section for his 'The Love Is' while the same award was presented to Ehsan Khaje Amiri for 'The Fall of Loneliness', in the audience choice section.

The award of the best pop rock album, chosen by experts, was given to Comment group while in the audience choice section, the prize was awarded to Reza Yazdani.

During the ceremony Culture Minister Ali Jannati awarded two orders of merit to Abdolvahab Shahidi one for his singing and another for playing the lute.

Rasoul Younan received the best pop song award, chosen by experts, for 'Teaehouses' while Rouzbeh Bemani was given an award in the section of best songs collections, according to experts.

The award of the bestselling music album on the net, according to Beeptunes website, was given to Homayoun Shajarian for his 'Neither Angel nor Devil'.

The special mention of the annual celebration was given to Behrouz Qaribpour for his puppet operas.

The award of the best contemporary and traditional Iranian music piece went to 'Fatherland' composed by Navid Dehqan and sung by Salar Aqili.

Ali Zand Vakili, Behrouz Safarian, Soroush Samiei, Mohsen Chavoshi and Morteza Pashaei also bagged awards in various sections.

Keyhan Kalhor was presented the best award of classic, nations and modern music album for 'Layers of Darkness'.
