Assyrian bishop thanks Iran for help to non-Muslims amid coronavirus outbreak

The Bishop of the Assyrian Church of the East in Iran expressed his thanks to the Executive Headquarters of Imam’s Directive for sending vulnerable families’ support packages to the non-Muslim community of Iran.

The packages were distributed among the Assyrians under the name of Barekat packages, Mar Narsai Benjamin wrote in a letter to the CEO of Ehsan-Barekat Charity Foundation, according to ISNA.

The charity offers social services to the underprivileged to eradicate social harms, and is affiliated to the Executive Headquarters of Imam’s Directive and Barekat Foundation which was established in 2007 to act as an organization to uproot deprivation, to realize economic and social empowerment and to carry out public affairs.

“We pray to God to wipe out this ominous disease from our beloved country of Iran and the whole world,” the letter read.
