This was decided in a phone conversation between Iran’s Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian and his Russian counterpart, Alexander Novak, on Friday, Mehr News Agency reported.
In addition, the two ministers discussed various topics, including the implementation of joint projects, boosting trade ties, and expanding investment cooperation in the energy, agricultural and transport sectors.
Ardakanian and Novak conferred on implementing power plant projects, particularly the construction of Sirik power station in the southern Iranian province of Hormuzgan.
Among other issues were building four thermal plants in the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas, electrifying Garmsar-Incheboron railway and purchasing basic goods from Russia.
With a length of 495 kilometers, the railway links Garmsar in the central Iranian province of Semnan to Incheboron in the northeastern province of Golestan.
