In comments during a visit to a factory of Iranian carmaker Iran Khodro Company, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said the IRGC’s Aerospace Force has a “technological industry” and is prepared to share it with domestic automotive industries without limitation, Tasnim News Agency reported.
The key to success in the automobile industry is reliance on domestic capabilities and new technology-based firms, the commander noted.
He lauded Iranian carmakers for overcoming US unilateral sanctions through employing domestic capabilities as well as the knowledge, expertise and experiences of Iranian academics and experts.
“Strengthening the country’s industry and economy could immunize it against sanctions, the same as what has taken place in the country’s defense industry,” the general added.
In July 2019, the Iranian Defense Ministry unveiled plans to boost cooperation with domestic companies producing auto parts in an effort to counter economic sanctions against the Islamic Republic’s automotive industry.
