Mohammad Jalal Firooznia’s warning came after he met with the Grand Mufti of Lebanon Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian on July 27, Mehr News Agency (MNA) reported.
Firooznia and the Grand Mufti of Lebanon underscored the need to strengthen national and Islamic unity.
"Lebanon needs unity, now," said the Iranian ambassador as quoted by the Lebanese news feeder elnashra.com.
"Iran helps Lebanon in various sectors and we stand by all Lebanese," he added.
Answering a question about the possibility of warmongering activities by Israeli regime against Lebanon, the Iranian envoy said, "I do not think that the Zionist regime is in a situation that allows it to show stupidity against Lebanon. The Zionist enemy has not forgotten the defeat in the 33-day war."
"A harsh response will await the Zionist regime if it takes any adventures against Lebanon," he warned, "The Resistance Axis is stronger than ever and more victories will arrive."
About 1,200 Lebanese, most of them civilians, were martyred in the Israeli war on Lebanon in the summer of 2006. However, Hezbollah fighters defeated the Israeli military, forcing Tel Aviv to retreat without achieving any of its objectives.
Last Monday, Syrian media reported a new Israeli aggression in which Israeli forces fired missiles from the occupied Golan Heights.
Hezbollah said in a statement on July 21 that one of its members, Ali Kamel Mohsen, had been killed the night before during the Israeli attack near the Syrian capital of Damascus.
On July 27, Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance movement carried out an operation against Israeli forces in the occupied Shebaa Farms area in response to the Israeli attack in Syria which killed Ali Kamel Mohsen last week.
