Rouhani: US has no right to use JCPOA snapback mechanism

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the US measures always have been aimed at destroying the Iran nuclear agreement, stressing that Washington has no right to use the deal’s snapback mechanism.

President Rouhani made the remarks in a phone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday, president's official website reported.
Rouhani emphasized that Europe should not be influenced by the US and fall into its trap.
"Based on Resolution 2231 of the United Nations Security Council, Iranian arms embargo must be lifted from October 18, and if the United States wants to do anything against it, it is a violation of the resolution", Rouhani said.
The Iranian president underlined that the US has no right to use the nuclear deal snapback mechanism, because it has withdrawn from the deal for more than two years.
Both officials also discussed a range of issues, including  latest developments in Lebanon after an explosion in the country’s capital claimed more than 170 lives.
"It is very important that we all help the Lebanese judiciary to find the root causes of this incident," he said, referring to the current situation in Lebanon following last week's horrific explosion in Beirut.
The president also welcomed the French president's invitation from Iran to join the international action group to help resolve Lebanon's problems.
Emmanuel Macron for his part referred to the situation in Lebanon and his visit to the Arab country, calling on Iran to help resolve the Lebanese political crisis.
