Zarif due in Moscow on Thursday

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif plans to travel to Moscow on Thursday to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on bilateral and regional issues.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh on Monday announced that Zarif will pay an official visit to Russia to discuss bilateral and regional issues and the Iran nuclear deal, IRNA reported.

Russian president’s special envoy for Afghanistan and director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Second Asia Department, Zamir Kabulov, also said on Monday that the Iranian foreign minister will visit Moscow.

Kabulov said that Zarif will meet his Russian counterpart on September 24, TASS reported.

Zarif's previous visit to Moscow took place in July. During his visit, he met with senior Russian officials.
