Iranian and Afghan traders spoke of reaching major agreements to enhance bilateral cooperation in different areas at the end of a three-day joint exhibition held in Kabul.

A group of 100 Iranian and Afghan companies attended the event which was held in the Afghan capital for the first time, Press TV reported on Thursday.

Iran is one of Afghanistan’s biggest trading partners and the value of annual trade between the two countries stands at around three billion dollars.

Afghanistan and Iran have many commonalities, that’s why the visitors also optimistically welcomed holding such exhibitions as an opportunity to further boost and strengthen the ties between Afghanistan and Iran.

In addition to economic support, Tehran has always stood by Kabul in other areas like security. Iran is among the main regional players, which has put its weight behind intra-Afghan talks for a lasting peace in the war-torn country.
