According to ISNA, Haddad-Adel welcomed the Pakistani official and wished him success in his diplomatic mission.
Referring to the activities of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, Haddad-Adel introduced the ‘Encyclopedia of Persian Language and Literature in the Subcontinent.’
Speaking about the cultural and linguistic commonalities between Iran and Pakistan, the Iranian official expressed hope that such cooperation would expand with the expansion of political and cultural ties.
Ambassador Qureshi emphasized the role of the Persian language in the subcontinent and in modern Pakistan, and did not separate the Urdu language from the Persian language in terms of vocabulary.
He pointed to the role of writers and poets such as Muhammad Iqbal in the development of the Persian language.
