Persepolis will kick off the defense of its Persian Gulf Pro League title against Saipa at Shahr-e Qods Stadium on October 31.
The full draw for the Iranian league was announced on Monday as 16 teams learned their fate for the 20th edition of the competition.
Also on the first day of the new season, Esteghlal, under new manager Mahmoud Fekri, will face newly-promoted side Mes Rafsanjan, while Amir Qalenoei will have a reunion with former club Sepahan when his new team Golgohar Sirjan hosts the Isfahan-based side.
Javad Nekounam’s Foolad Khuzestan, which stole the headlines with a third-spot finish last season, will begin its campaign at Zob Ahan Isfahan, with Tractor, in Alireza Mansourian’s league debut, playing Naft Masjed Soleyman in Tabriz.
Foolad will then host Esteghlal on matchday two in Ahvaz’s Foolad Arena, and Sepahan will play at Tractor the following weekend.
The highly-anticipated Tehran derby will see archrivals Persepolis and Esteghlal battling it out on matchday eight, after Yahya Golmohammadi’s men take on Sepahan at the Azadi Stadium.
The full dates and kickoff times of the league fixtures are yet to be released by the Iran Football Federation’s League Organization.
Before the league gets underway Persepolis and Hazfi Cup champion Tractor will play the Iranian Super Cup match on October 26.
