Iran, Zimbabwe discuss promotion of trade ties

Iran's new Ambassador to Zimbabwe Abbas Navazani in a meeting with Zimbabwean President Emerson Mnangagwa discussed extension of Tehran-Harare relations, particularly in the fields of trade and economic activities.

During the meeting, held on Monday evening, Navazani submitted his credentials to the Zimbabwean president, IRNA reported.

The two stressed the need to promote bilateral relations and called for holding a meeting of the joint economic commission in Tehran in the near future.

Navazani also urged the significance of lifting Western sanctions, especially those imposed by the US, against Zimbabwe, reiterating that Iran considers those sanctions as examples of economic terrorism that targets ordinary people.
