Zahedan power plant launched

The third 42-megawatt power plant of Zahedan in southeastern Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan joined the national power grid, announced the deputy for projects development at the Thermal Power Plants Holding Company.

Mohammad Ramezani added that the first and second medium-scale power plants of Zahedan were inaugurated in September 2022, IRNA reported.

The Thermal Power Plants Holding Company has plans to construct another power plant with a capacity of 126MW to prevent voltage drop of the grid with the cooperation of domestic companies, he noted.

Sistan and Baluchestan suffers from negative electricity consumption balance, said the official adding that launching the new power stations will help supply sustainable electricity across the province.
