Iranian develops pollinating device

Akbar Abdi Qazijahani, who produced the device, said the device spreads pollen on plants such as berry, pistacia atlantica, hazelnut, walnut trees, corn and cucumber plants, and helps increase crop yield.

Qazijahani added that the device can also collect pollen from flowers or other blossoms for use in the manufacture of perfumes, medicines and in flower and plant breeding.

Pollinating devices generate an electrostatic shock that mimics the static energy a bee generates flapping its wings during pollination. This energy helps the pollen stick.

The device helps small farmers improve their productivity.
