Urban Film Festival to honor Derakhshandeh

Noted Iranian filmmaker Pouran Derakhshandeh will be honored on the sidelines of the Fifth International Urban Film Festival to be held in Tehran later this month.


She will be honored for her lifetime artistic achievements, IRNA said.

Director, producer, screen writer and researcher Derakhshandeh graduated in film directing from Tehran's School of Television and Cinema in 1975.

Her latest drama 'Hush! Girls Don't Scream' received great attention worldwide.

'The Little Bird of Happiness' (1987), 'Passing Through the Dust' (1988), 'Lost Time' (1989), 'A Love Without Frontier' (1998), 'Candle in the Wind' (2003), 'Eternal Children' (2006), 'Endless Dream' (2010), are among her works.

Meanwhile, an exhibition of film posters and pictures will be held along the festival scheduled for May 24 -June 2.

The event will showcase 60 photos and 10 posters of movies produced after 2011.

IUFF has been organized due to importance of advertisement in cinema and its undeniable role in attracting different ranges of audiences.

The Fifth International Urban Film Festival, organized by Art and Cultural Department of Tehran University, will be held from May 24 to June 2.
