Nima Yushij-Jimenez meet due in Spain late April

A modern poetry conference will be held at the Complutense University of Madrid to commemorate eminent Iranian poet Nima Yushij and Spanish poet Juan Ramon Jimenez.

The poets' rhymes and thoughts will be discussed at the event, Mehr News Agency wrote.

The event, scheduled for April 27-28, has been organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in Spain jointly with the International Center of Book City Institute, the Iranology Association in Spain and Complutense University of Madrid.

Ali Esfandiari, known by his pen-name Nima Yushij, was a contemporary Persian poet who started the 'She're No' (modern poetry) in Iran. He is considered as the father of modern Persian poetry.

Juan Ramón Jiménez Mantecón (December 23, 1881-May 29, 1958) was a Spanish poet, a prolific writer who received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1956 for his lyrical poetry and important contributions to Spanish modern poetry.
