Qanbari to direct documentary on painter Kouchakian

Iranian filmmaker Rahbar Qanbari will produce a documentary on the life of one of the most renowned Iranian painters Fereydoun Kouchakian.

The documentary will be shot in Switzerland, Russia and the UAE as well as the Iranian provinces of Gilan, Mazandaran, Ardabil, Tehran, Markazi and Isfahan, IRNA reported.

Kouchakian and a number of his friends will appear in the documentary. The director is also the film's producer.

The cast of the flick will include interviewer Behnaz Naderi, cinematographer Rouzbeh Rayga and editor Mehran Karami.

Born in 1961, Qanbari is best known for his 2002 'Little Bird Freak' that won him the Special International Jury Prize of the 14th Cairo International Film Festival for Children, Press TV said.

He also won the Best Feature Film Award of the Ninth Religion Today Film Festival for his 2004 production, 'He'.

'An Iranian Bazaar', 'Norouz Flowers' and 'Unread Papers' are among Qanbari's better-known works.
