The 'Rumi Symphony Project: Untold' is the creation of composer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist Hafez Nazeri, and features his legendary father, Shahram, one of Iran's most distinguished traditional musicians, Zakir Hussain, Deepak Chopra, and a number of Grammy winners, ISNA said.
Hafez Nazeri held a press conference to elaborate on the concert at Niavaran Cultural Center on Saturday.
Nazeri will begin his tour on August 27 and 28 in Shiraz and will then perform concerts on September 3 and 4 in Tehran.
An innovative synthesis of Middle Eastern and Western elements, 'Untold' introduces Nazeri as one of modern music's most exciting new visionaries.
Hafez Nazeri hoped to be supported on the tour by an eclectic, all-star ensemble of performers from East and West who performed in the album.
This groundbreaking project which has sold out many of the most prestigious concert halls worldwide aspires to cross cultural boundaries by integrating Western and Eastern classical music into a new and universal harmony with hopes to bring cultures and generations together through the messages of love and unity interwoven throughout verses of the great poet and philosopher Rumi (Jalal-e-Din Mohammad Molavi).
Nazeri's debut album, 'Untold: The Rumi Symphony Project', hit number one twice on Billboard's Classical chart, a first for an Iranian musician.
This magnum opus features 38 Grammy Award winning musicians and took over four years and more than 5,000 studio hours in five countries to complete.
