Three blasts in Chad kill nearly 40 people

Nearly 40 people have been killed in three explosions in the Chadian city of Baga Sola near the border with Nigeria.

The blasts on Saturday have been blamed on the Nigeria-based Takfiri Boko Haram militant group.

Thirty-eight people, including five attackers, were confirmed dead and over 50 were injured in the blasts that occurred at about 4:00 p.m. local time (1500 GMT).

Security sources said one of the blasts targeted the fish market in the city and the other two struck a refugee camp on the outskirts of Baga Sola.
