Iran's documentary bound for two int'l festivals

'Bard', meaning stone in Persian, will vie at the 15th Silhouette Festival in Paris and at the 10th Ânûû-rû Âboro Film Festival in New Caledonia, on August 26 to September 10 and October 14-22, respectively.

The documentary has won the Diploma of Honor for Best Director and the award for best short documentary at the Cinéma Vérité. It has also bagged the award for best creative documentary at the Visions du Réel.

The 25-minute flick narrates the story of a woman who leaves home for the mountains each day with a sledgehammer and crowbar, breaks rock and sells them to make a living.
