She was awarded for a collection of her 13 films which mainly concerned women's problems.
The festival is being attended by 200 flicks from 20 countries. India, Ireland, the US, Iran, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Turkey, France, Egypt, Italy, the UK, Belgium, Russia, Lebanon, Vietnam, China, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Germany, Portugal and South Korea are among the countries which are screening their productions in the festival.
The 4th edition of the event is underway with Iranian actress Fatemeh Motamed-Aria as a member of the panel of jury. Another Iranian actress Mahnaz Afshar is expected to win the award for the best leading actress at the event.
International Women's Film Festival was launched in Herat, Afghanistan in 2012 and is the first women film festival in the Middle East. It hosted 1,000 films in the earlier editions.
