Iranian clubs lift all Asian weightlifting trophies

Iranian weightlifting clubs claimed all three podium spots at the 2016 Asian Weightlifting Clubs Championships in Qatar.
On Friday — the final day of the competitions in the Qatari capital city of Doha — Melli Haffari Company Ahvaz Sports Club, affiliated to the National Iran Drilling Company, tallied 592 points to win the title, Press TV reported.
Niroye Zamini Club, affiliated to the Islamic Republic of Iran Army Ground Forces, finished runner-up in the championships with 568 points.
Zob Ahan Isfahan Club, sponsored by Isfahan Steel Company, finished in the third place, having racked up 567 points.
Gold medalists at the Rio 2016 Olympics Sohrab Moradi and Kianoush Rostami accompanied Zob Ahan Isfahan Club in the Asian tournament.
The tournament was held during December 14-16, 2016.
The competitors contested in 56kg, 62kg, 69kg, 77kg, 85kg, 94kg, 105kg and +105kg weight categories.
