Exports to Russia up 30%

Statistics released by the Russian customs office indicate that Iran's exports to Russia increased 30 percent in 2017, compared to the figure for 2016, said Iran's commercial attaché to Russia on Wednesday.

Speaking at the Lorestan-Russia Meeting on Development of Economic Cooperation in the western Iranian province of Lorestan, Farhad Parand further said that Iran's export to Russia stood at $303 million in 2016, IRNA reported.

This figure, ha added, increased to $392 million in 2017.

Parand noted that Iran's imports from Russia was $1.8 billion in 2016 but the figure dropped to $1.03 billion in 2017.

He said that food and agricultural products valued at $273 million constituted 70 percent of Iran's exports to Russia, adding metals, cement, chemicals, and mining products were also among the export items.
