Iranian defender Seyyed Majid Hosseini (R) poses for a photo with his new team’s shirt after signing for Turkey’s Trabzonspor in Trabzon, Turkey, on July 30, 2018.
Iranian international and Esteghlal’s wonderkid Seyyed Majid Hosseini joined Turekey’s Super Lig side Trabzonspor on a three-year contract.
After weeks of speculations, Hosseini completed the move after the Turkish side and Esteghlal agreed a reported $600,000 fee for the 22-year-old defender, making him the second Iranian signing of the summer – following ex-Persepolis winger Vahid Amiri who signed for Trabzonspor earlier in July.
“I played for one of two most popular teams in Iran so I’m so happy to have signed for a popular Turkish club,” Hosseini said after signing the contract.
Having scored two goals in 52 appearances for the Tehran’s Blues, Hosseini was a part of Iran’s backline during the 2018 World Cup in Russia who caught the eyes with some firm defensive displays in Group B of the competitions against Morocco, Spain and Portugal.
