Eight films representing Iran in Barcelona festival

Eight Iranian films are taking part in the Sixth Asian Film Festival Barcelona (AFFBCN) in Spain in competition with representatives from other Asian countries.

Three films 'Appendix', directed by Hossein Namazi, 'Vilaeiha' (Villa Dwellers), directed by Monir Qeydi, and 'Azar', directed by Mohammad Hamzei are to compete in the event's Special section.

The other five films 'Lina' by Ramin Rasouli, 'Forty Baldies' by Sadeq Sadeq Daqiqi, 'Midday Adventures' by Mohammad Hossein Mahdavian, 'Leaf of Life' by Ebrahim Mokhtari will participate in Panorama section, IRNA wrote.

'Motherhood' by Roqayyeh Tavakoli will represent Iran in NetPac section.

Farabi Cinema Foundation is in charge of global distribution of the films participating in the festival.

The festival is organized in six sections namely: Official, Panorama, Netpac -to contest-, Discoveries, Special and Retrospective which will be devoted to the Japanese director Hirokazu Koreeda, who was awarded with the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival 2018 for his film 'Shoplifters'.

AFFBCN will end on November 11 in the Spanish city of Barcelona.
