Iranian minister: Scientific cooperation helps create understanding among nations

Cultural, scientific and educational collaborations between nations play a unique role in creating understanding and helping adopt a more positive attitude toward each other, said the Iranian minister of education.

Speaking on the first day of the Meeting of the Secretary Generals for ISESCO’s (Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) National Commissions in the southwestern Iranian city of Shiraz, Mohammad Bat’haei added ISESCO is a venue for fostering collaboration and solidarity among Islamic states, IRNA reported.

Expansion of cultural, scientific and educational cooperation between countries prepares the ground for them to establish connection and further promote solidarity, he noted.

The Iranian minister stressed that being Muslim and having rich cultures as well as great and brilliant civilizations are the common aspects shared by all ISESCO’s member states.

He added that with 54 members, all Islamic states, the ISESCO has played a very effective role in the international community and enjoys a very high status internationally as an Islamic and international organization.

Bat’haei said, “We honor the supports the ISESCO provides the downtrodden and Muslim people of Palestine and maintain that the organization’s activities are useful for upholding Palestinian’s rights.”

Bat’haei, who is also the head of the high council of Iran’s national committee in the ISESCO, noted that Iran plays an effective role in drawing up the organization’s plans and has always, since joining the the ISESCO, done its best to play an effective and useful role in implementing them.
