Iran international center Hamed Haddadi joined Lebanese basketball club Champville.

The 218-centimeter former NBA center had also been linked with a move to Homenetmen Beirut B.C. but opted to join Champville, Tasnim News Agency reported.

Haddadi was without a team after parting company with his Chinese club Xinjiang Flying Tigers.

He was Iran’s big absent against Japan, where his side – dubbed ‘Team Melli’ locally – lost to the East Asian team 97-89 in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Asian qualifier on Thursday.

Haddadi started his career as a basketball player in Iranian club Shahin Ahvaz in 1999 and joined Memphis Grizzlies in 2008 and played in the NBA team for five years.
