Iran’s three-month coal concentrate output stands at 170,000 tons

Iran’s two major coal companies produced over 170,000 tons of coal concentrate during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21-June 21), indicating a one-percent growth compared to corresponding figure pertaining to last year.

According to statistics released by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization, Tabas Coal Company and Central Alborz Coal Company produced 170,470 tons of concentrate during the three-month period.

Tabas Coal Company accounted for 146,226 tons of the total output and Central Alborz Coal Company for the remaining 24,244 tons.

According to the report, the two companies extracted 474,202 tons of coal during the period which indicates an 11-percent growth compared to corresponding figure of last year which was 425,410 tons.

Tabas Coal Company extracted 442,569 tons of coal during March 21-June 21, while the share of Central Alborz Coal Company stood at 31,633 tons.

Iranian coal mines, with about 1.15 billion tons of reserves, have the capacity to produce up to three million tons of coal concentrate per year.
