Tehran, Beijing form committee on trade promotion: TCCIMA

Iranian and Chinese traders formed a joint committee on promotion of trade, said the head of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (TCCIMA) on Sunday.

Masoud Khansari announced the move in a meeting with representatives of Shanghai International Cooperation Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), adding that the committee will help to solve any differences, IRNA reported.

The official noted that the Beijing Chamber of Commerce and Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture enjoy huge potentials, which can help boost bilateral trade.

On Iran’s tourism capacities, Khansari said the country has planned to attract more tourists from China.

Khansari also pointed to historical trade relations between the two countries, calling China, Iran’s top trade partner.

The trade turnover between the two nations reached $32 billion in the past Iranian year which ended on March 20, according to the official.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Chinese chamber, for his part, voiced his country’s interest in boosting trade relations with Iran, saying the two economies are complementary to each other.

He expressed hope that the visit of the Iranian delegation could provide good opportunities for the two sides to further expand their mutual cooperation in various areas.

Elsewhere in the meeting, the two sides emphasized the need for exchanging information regarding their private sectors and their market needs in order to determine potential areas for cooperation.

On Wednesday, TCCIMA signed a trilateral memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation with China’s Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) and the Iranian Chamber of Commerce in the North China region of Beijing on Wednesday.

The MoU was signed during a meeting between the Iranian trade delegation and representatives of CCOIC and the Iranian Chamber of Commerce in the North China region.
