Iran’s new envoy to Sri Lanka submits credentials online

Iran’s new ambassador to Sri Lanka became the first Iranian envoy to have submitted his credentials to head of a foreign state via videoconference.

Iran’s Ambassador to Colombo Mohammad Hashem Ashja’zadeh submitted his credentials to President of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa via videoconferencing, according to Tasnim News Agency.

The new ambassadors of Brazil and India also submitted their credentials in the online conference.

The outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic has forced the countries to hold many regional and international meetings in the virtual space.
