Bahram Qasemi wrote in a series of messages on his Twitter account that Europe which is interested in the world of multilateralism should make more efforts to be faithful to its commitments and do its duties, IRNA reported.
Referring to a phone call between the Iranian and French presidents on Wednesday, Qasemi said the call was a starting point to enter a new period of mutual cooperation between Tehran and Paris in line with reaching better mutual understanding, taking more effective efforts to ensure global peace and security and solving certain regional problems.
The ambassador added that dialogue is the best way serve common interests and develop cooperation in any area.
President Hassan Rouhani and his French counterpart on Wednesday discussed issues of mutual interests including the US bid to force the United Nation’s Security Council to resume an expiring arms embargo against Iran upon the 2015 nuclear deal officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
US is planning to trigger the snapback mechanism of the JCPOA in case of the failure of his move at the UNSC.
The snapback mechanism is intended to automatically restore the UN sanctions on Iran that existed prior to 2015 in case of violations.
In his telephone conversation with President Emmanuel Macron, the Iranian president said the US has no right to use the snapback mechanism.
Rouhani also emphasized that Europe should not be influenced by the US and fall into its trap.
