Multiple sports were given a green light to resume action by Iran’s Headquarters for Managing and Fighting Coronavirus in Sports.

Major sporting events have been on a standstill since mid-March due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

In a meeting headed by Mohammad-Asad Masjedi, the head of Iran’s Sports Medicine Federation, the national teams of boxing, wrestling, taekwondo, and wushu were given permission to attend preparation camps – with full observation of hygiene protocols and minimum athletes.

Masjedi also said, “The domestic leagues of volleyball, taolu, poomsae, tennis, and athletics are approved for resumption.”

Football was the first to restart competitions in the country with the Persian Gulf Pro League resuming on June 24, before it finished last Thursday.
