The first tribute ceremony of Iranian honorees in the international film festivals will be held as part of the side programs of the Fajr International Film Festival.
According to ISNA, citing the Fajr International Film Festival secretariat, this ceremony will be held on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Iranian cinema, which is also known as National Cinema Day, IRNA reported.
In cooperation with the Farabi Cinema Foundation and Iran’s House of Cinema, the first edition of celebrating Iranian cinema honorees will be held on September 11.
This program will honor the filmmakers who won international awards in 2019 (according to the regulations of the Cinema Organization of Iran) as well as those who participated as jurors in important international festivals.
This ceremony was supposed to be held during the 38th Fajr International Film Festival, but due to the coronavirus outbreak and postponement of the festival, it will be held simultaneously with the National Cinema Day.
This open-air program will be held in compliance with health protocols and with a minimum number of people.
The 38th Fajr International Film Festival will be held in June 2021.
