Kazakh envoy says Iran has extraterritorial cultivation in his country

Iran is implementing extraterritorial cultivation projects in Kazakhstan, said the ambassador of Kazakhstan to Iran in a press conference on Wednesday, adding that rice and other crops are among the cultivated grains of Iran in the country.

Askhat Orazbay said that Iran is a friend and among his country’s foreign policy priorities.

Iran and Kazakhstan have no problems whatsoever with each other and are on good terms, said the ambassador.

Orazbay said both President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had said that Kazakhstan had never betrayed or bothered Iran.

He said his country has been a friendly nation to Iran and even hosted a meeting of nuclear negotiations of Iran.

Regarding the policy of his country not to sell land to foreigners, he said that it doesn’t mean they cannot be active there, adding that the government will develop other forms of agricultural participation in the economic cycle.

Reading the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s State of the Nation Address, he said his country will continue to fight the coronavirus epidemic.

He added that Kazakhstan has paid $1.1 billion to 4.5 million people that have lost their incomes due to the coronavirus outbreak.
