Iranian animated film ‘Autumn Winds, Spring Winds and Two Doves’, written and directed by Sadeq Javadi, will be screened in the short film section of the 49th edition of Montreal Festival Du Nouveau Cinéma in Canada.
The screening will be the Iranian short animated film’s first presence in an international festival, IRNA reported.
‘Autumn Winds, Spring Winds and Two Doves’ is a 2020 production of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults.
The festival opens today and will come to an end on October 18.
“The girl is waiting for the man to arrive. The dove brings her the man’s letter. The man goes aboard the ship. Everything begins trembling by the autumn storm. Everybody’s depressed and disappointed. The dove, however, does not wait for the spring to arrive and begins the search. It does its best,” reads the synopsis of the 10-minute animated movie.
In addition, the film ‘There Is No Evil’, a 2020 Iranian drama film directed by Mohammad Rasoulof, will take part in the Canadian festival. The film is a joint production of Iran, Germany and the Czech Republic.
More than anything, the Canadian festival is about a spirit, the spirit of good company, festivity and fun, according to nouveaucinema.ca.
The eleven-day festival is designed as a space devoted to discussions, meetings and sharing, where film fans can come together with artists and professionals to exchange ideas in an informal setting. Film isn’t something to be kept cloistered in an ivory tower.
