Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif urged the United Nations to contain the United States which has spent most of its history in war.
Zarif made the remarks in a Twitter message on the occasion of 75th anniversary of the United Nations.
He said that the United States has spent 220 of its 244-year history in war.
“UN@75 should contain its host, which spent 220 of its 244-year history in war, & since 1945 alone waged—& mostly lost—39 military & 120 economic wars vs anyone refusing to submit to its whims”, Zarif tweeted on Monday.
“Reality: No one wins in a war,” Zarif underlined.
Since its foundation, the US has engaged in many military wars across the world.
In recent years, the US military intervention in the region has resulted in nothing but destruction, deaths and insecurity.
Its illegal military aggressions on Afghanistan and Iraq on the pretext of fighting terrorism have claimed the lives thousands of innocent people in the countries.
The most recent war, America's engagement in Afghanistan, is the most protracted war in the US history. The war on Afghanistan was a response to devastating coordinated terrorist attacks on American soil on Sept. 11, 2001 in search of Taliban and Al-Qaeda forces. US troops remain there to this day.
