Iran’s female translator and film producer, Shohreh Golparian, received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Ray from the Japanese government.
The Iranian Embassy in Japan announced that the medal was awarded to Golparian for her contribution to strengthening relations between the two countries, IRNA reported.
Golparian has worked with the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and the Nippon Hoso Kyokai (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) as an interpreter.
She was also the project assistant professor at the Global Support Center of Tokyo University of the Arts.
Golparian is the president of Small Talk Inc., a cultural company in Yokohama, a Japanese city south of Tokyo.
According to aba.ne.jp, Kyokujitsu_sho (Order of the Rising Sun) was established in Japan in April 1875, and Zuiho_sho (Order of the Sacred Treasure), and Hokan_sho (Order of the Precious Crown) were established by 1886.
