Iran and Afghanistan held the fifth round of negotiations on the Comprehensive Document on Strategic Cooperation between the two countries.
Co-chaired by Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Afghanistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mirwais Nab, the negotiations were held in Tehran on Sunday, according to IRNA.
Araqchi expressed satisfaction with the progress made during the talks and expressed hope that the Comprehensive Document on Strategic Cooperation between the two neighboring countries would soon be ready for signing by the presidents of Iran and Afghanistan.
The document covers the perspective of long-term relations between the two countries in the fields of politics, security, economy, culture and issues relating to the citizens of the two countries, as well as the issue of water.
