The second Austrian Cultural Week will be held in March next year on Kish Island, following an agreement signed between the Kish Free Zone Organization (KFZO) and the Austrian Cultural Association in Tehran.

While expressing his satisfaction with the attention of the Austrian ambassador to Iran, the director general of KFZO said, “The history of long-term cooperation between Iran and Austria created an opportunity for developing political, economic, social and cultural cooperation.”

Referring to the expansion of Iran’s international relations, Gholamhossein Mozaffari said, “It is hoped that in the course of interactions with developed countries, tremendous achievements will be made.”

According to IRNA, due to the great weather and fine infrastructure of Kish Island, we are ready for joint cooperation within legal frameworks, he added.

Holding joint tours between Austria and Kish, as well as using the capacity of Austria’s leading universities to hold specialized training courses in the field of tourism industry, with the cooperation of one of the domestic universities, was also proposed.

Mozaffari added that the Austria’s Cultural Week on Kish Island in coming month will be held by fully observing of health protocols and guidelines due to the spread of coronavirus global pandemic.

He noted, “We hope that Kish Cultural Week will be held in the Austrian capital of Vienna in the future.”

Austrian Ambassador to Iran Stephen Schultz said, “The history of cooperation between Iran and Austria dates back to 700 years ago. Accordingly, we have always been ready to develop ties with Iran.”

Schultz said, “We are very eager to develop cooperation with Iran, particularly in the field of arts and culture,” adding that in the upcoming cultural week, three Austrian music artists will stage performances.

Based on the signed agreement, it is expected that Austria will hold an exhibition at the Kish Art Center, which, according to the Austrian ambassador, will take place in the first half of March 2021.
