Official: Institutionalizing social concept of resistance one function of Resistance Int’l Film Festival

Institutionalizing the social concept of resistance is one of the functions of the 16th Resistance International Film Festival (RIFF) and, with the actions taken in this festival, resistance finds a broader meaning, said the Cinema Organization of Iran (COI) director, Hossein Entezami.

Entezami underscored that almost all countries in the region face the issue of resistance as a social issue, adding that the countries engaged in war against global arrogance or Daesh terrorists are touching the concept of resistance as a daily priority in their social lives, moqavematfilmfest.ir wrote.

“As a result, the 16th RIFF should explain the concept of resistance more socially than before and to be the basis for establishing the right connection between the concept of resistance and the indigenous community.”

He said it is necessary to attract foreign filmmakers to attend this international film festival.

Entezami called Iran a promoter of the concept of resistance in the region.

The festival is organized every year to observe the anniversary of the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war, which is called the Sacred Defense in Iran.

The first part of the festival was held from September 21 to 27, coinciding with the Sacred Defense Week, covering the section, “Health Defenders,” and the second part, from November 21 to 27, includes the sections, “Main Competition,” “Resistance Prominent Martyr – Special Section,” “Best Film Competition in Absolute Sense,” and “Narrations of the Pen – Scriptwriting Competition.”
