Brighton & Hove Albion’s Alireza Jahanbakhsh could be on his way for a loan exit in January, according to British newspaper Sussex Express.

The Iranian, 27, who joined the Premier League side for a then club record of £17 million in 2018, is yet to find his way into the starting eleven under manager Graham Potter as his career in the English top-flight has been hit by several long-spell injuries.

Former AZ Alkmaar midfielder, who finished as the Eredivisie topscorer with 21 goals in his last season for the Dutch side, has lived up to the expectations every time he has been called into action by the manager, most notably during an early season 3-2 defeat against Manchester United and last Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

The Iranian has got a couple of goals to his name this season – during Carabao Cup victories over lower-tier clubs Portsmouth and Preston before Brighton was knock out by United in September.

A loan move could see the Iranian international find more regular time of play elsewhere rather than being an inspiring substitute for the Seagulls.
