In a video shared on TikTok, Lynn Whitfield shared how they discovered the secret space underneath their house, according to mirror.co.uk.
The room was packed full with ancient books — including "multiple first editions” — records and locked trunks.
The caption of the video said: "Just found this hidden room under [our] house."
The woman explained that the room was in the basement.
The family can be seen looking at the bookshelves — which are piled high with ancient texts.
In a follow-up video, the woman said the family had hired appraisers after finding multiple first editions in the room.
She showed off some of the books, along with a box of old records and multiple trunks.
She added in the video caption: "This is just the beginning."
More than two million people have viewed the original video since it was shared on TikTok, with thousands begging the woman for more details.
In the comments, lots of viewers urged the family to wear gloves while holding the ancient books.
But lots of people were left creeped out by the discovery — and advised the woman to take care.
One person joked: "If I've learnt anything from Evil Dead, you find a hidden room, you don't wanna read the books in there out loud, not in 2020."
Another commented: "Girl don't read it out loud, what if you cast a spell or something??"
And lots of book collectors were very jealous.
One person replied: "Gold mine. There are collectors that would pay a fortune for some of those books."
Another agreed, adding: "I saw Hemingway, I'm so jealous."
A third advised: "These books might be extremely expensive and rare, so be careful handling them.
"Look out for trusted and professional help examining them."
