Iranian books win award at Qatar literary contest

Translation of two Iranian books ranked third at Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding held in Doha, Qatar.

The books which were translated in Arabic were ‘A History of Persian Literature’ by Ahmad Tamimdari and ‘A Glimpse of Iran's Literary Past’ by Iranian literature researcher Abdolhossein Zarrinkoob, IRNA reported.

Zarrinkoob's book had been translated by Sadeq Khorsha and Tamimdari's book by Syrian translator Basel Adnavi with cooperation of Iran's Cultural Center in Damascus, Syria.

Founded in 2015, Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding aims to encourage translators and publishers working for friendship and cooperation among nations.
