Australia’s Sunshine to host Iran’s ‘Baraka, the Cow’

Iranian short film ‘Baraka, the Cow,’ directed by Komeil Soheili, will be screened at the Sunshine Short Film Festival (SSFF) in Australia, from February 11 to 20.

The film will be both screened online and during the physical opening ceremony of the SSFF, which this year is held hybrid due to the pandemic, reported.

‘Baraka, the Cow’ is about an old man who is in love with his cow. The cow knows about its owner’s love.

The film is among the winners of Filmaka's 6th Documentary competition in the US and also took part in the 5th Realtime International Film Festival in Nigeria and German (Göttingen) International Ethnographic Film Festival.

Soheili is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and producer with extensive experience on movies. His work has appeared on BBC and National Geographic.

The festival’s focus is still and will always be on compelling storytelling through a visual medium. It celebrates the work of professional, accomplished filmmakers and those who want to have a go and have something to say to the world, according to the festival’s website.
