According to Manager of the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan border markets Mobin Ali-Mir, in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20-September 21, 2020), local markets of the eastern province of Iran have contributed to 10% of the country's trade exchanges with other countries, Iranpress.com reported.
“These markets are leading in exports of non-oil goods and seven out of the eight markets in the region are active,” Ali-Mir added.
Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province has the highest number of active markets, two markets near the border with Afghanistan, and five others near the border with Pakistan.
Ali-Mir added most exports have been done through the markets of Mirjaveh and Kuhak bordering Pakistan.
"Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan border markets are active from Gomshad in Afghanistan to Rimdan in Pakistan, and most of the exports to Pakistan are made through these borders," the manager added.
