Iranian diplomat rebukes Arab Parliament speaker for anti-Iran propaganda

Head of Iran's Interest Section in Egypt Naser Kanani denounced Speaker of the Arab Parliament Adel Al-Asoomi for the accusations he lately levelled against Tehran.

Asoomi made unfounded accusations against Iran and its regional role in a recent interview with the private Satellite TV network 'Sada El Balad'.

He is a Bahraini lawmaker, elected as the speaker of the Arab Parliament in October and becoming the first Bahraini official who takes the position.

Reacting to Assomi's allegations, the Iranian diplomat said that the Arab Parliament speaker is “better not to speak for Israel and the United States against Iran, but as the speaker of the Arab Parliament, he is better to speak for the Arab nations whose view and judgment of Israel and the United States are clear and their respect for Iran is very high.”

Kanani added that from the very first days of taking office, Asoomi began his anti-Iran propaganda.

“You won't be considered great or respected by speaking out against Iran,” Kanani said addressing the speaker of the Arab Parliament adding, Iran has never been ashamed of its full support for the resistance movement in Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, and Yemen against the US and the Zionist regime, as well as combating terrorism and the Zionist regime in the region.

He further questioned Asoomi, “Do Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Palestine give you the responsibility to speak on their behalf about Iran?"

"We have presented many martyrs, including Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani who was the great hero for many nations of the world.

The Iranian diplomat further advised Asoomi that accusing Iran and practicing the blame game against the country do not help the situation of those who have been the accomplice of terrorists because today the dimensions of terrorism, its masterminds, and sponsors are clear to the world more than ever.

Kanaani also said that Asoomi’s abusing of his position, would only lead to a decline in the position of the Arab institution.
