"Trump, Pompeo & Co. are relegated to the dustbin of history in disgrace,” Zarif wrote in a tweet on Wednesday.
He further said that world will never forget crimes against humanity made by the 45th president of the United States and his administration, including the cowardly assassination of Iran’s anti-terror hero Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani who was targeted by US drone attack directly ordered by Trump.
“But the memories of Gen Soleimani & the 1000s murdered, maimed & starved of food & meds by Trump's state—& economic—terrorism & crimes against humanity, will shine on.
“Perhaps new folks in DC have learned," Zarif said referring to the US newly-sworn in President Joe Biden and his team who officially took office on Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Saeed Khatibzadeh also tweeted, "The DIPLOMATIC VANDALISM of Trump, Pompeo & co stemmed partly from a faulty institutional process. But that same process- when “functional”- produced disasters like wars in Iraq, Afghanistan & Vietnam.
“The world knows that only the US can fix itself – in practice; not in words.”
