Minister: Iran-Armenia third power grid to become operational soon

Iran's Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian said on Monday that Iran-Armenia's third electricity grid will become operational in 2021.

Ardakanian made the remarks on the sidelines of a meeting with Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan on Monday, IRNA reported.

He said the issue of completing Iran-Armenia's third electricity grid was discussed and will become operational in the first half of 2021.

The two sides also discussed the issue of pollution in the Aras River in northwestern Iran.

The Armenian minister arrived in Tehran on Friday and held talks with a number of Iranian officials on the expansion of economic relations.
