Speaking in a meeting of the government’s Economic Coordination Committee on Sunday, Rouhani said that thanks to accurate planning, especially the arrangements made in the context of the budget plan, the government managed to coordinate revenues and the expenditures, according to IRNA.
He said it was clear that the “defeated enemy” aims to break the country's economic tranquility, noting that they are trying to downgrade Iranians’ victory in the face of the economic war.
In 2018, former US administration abandoned the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and reimposed toughest sanctions on Tehran as part of a “maximum pressure” campaign aimed at forcing it to renegotiate a new deal that addresses its ballistic missile program and regional influence as well.
Iran refused to bow down to pressure and threats and responded to the US maximum pressure policy with “maximum resistance”.
The new US administration has indicated to re-enter the nuclear talks following the failure of the so-called “maximum pressure” policy.
The country's economic situation is improving rapidly, but keeping such development requires calm and peace in the market, Rouhani added.
The Iranian president also said that economic relations are entering a new phase as the country’s trade partners have changed their views over relations with Iran.
