Iran reports 73 coronavirus deaths in 24 hours

According to the Ministry’s spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari, 8,270 new cases of infection with the fatal disease were identified across the country over the past 24 hours and 746 of them have been hospitalized, IRNA reported.

Lari added that 1,365,253 patients out of a total of 1,598,875 infected people have so far recovered or been discharged from hospitals.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,705 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition and being treated in intensive care units, the spokeswoman said.

Since its outbreak, the COVID-19 pandemic has infected about 111 million people across the world, from whom over 2,450,000 people have lost their lives.
