Uzbekistan one of top trading partners of Iran

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi and his Uzbek counterpart Furqat Sadiqov attended the sixth meeting of Tehran-Tashkent political consultations in Tehran where the Iranian diplomat referred to Uzbekistan as one of the important trading partners of the Islamic Republic.

The meeting was co-chaired by Araqchi and Sadiqov on Monday and the two exchanged views on a wide range of bilateral, regional, and international issues, IRNA reported.

They stressed on further using of the major existing capacities to expand bilateral relations in the fields of transportation, commerce, culture, tourism, cultural, and legal activities.

Referring to the threats of terrorism and extremism in the region, participants of the meeting reiterated the need for cooperation to strengthen regional peace and stability.

Pointing to the appropriate volume of trade exchanges between Iran and Uzbekistan in the post-coronavirus era, Araqchi said Tehran and Tashkent have pursued a boosting approach for their bilateral cooperation in all fields.
